RECIPE : The real Valentine’s Day cake

Are you looking for a simple and original dessert to celebrate Valentine’s Day with delicacy? We suggest you to make this delicious Valentine’s Day cake with chocolate, strawberries and raspberries. The marriage of chocolate and red fruits is a real treat. Extremely soft, no one will be able to resist this fabulous dessert!

INGREDIENTS.

  • For the cake :
    – 6 eggs
    – 100g flour
    – 240g sugar
    – 200g praline chocolate
    – 200g dark chocolate
    – 250g butter half salt
    – 2 tablespoons strawberry jam
    – 2 tablespoons raspberry jam
    – 1 sachet of baking powder
  • For the icing :
    – 160 g red fruit coulis
    – 20 cl of water
    – 2 sheets of gelatine

PREPARATION

STEP 1: Melt the two chocolates and the butter in the microwave.

STEP 2: In a bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar. Add the chocolate mixture. Add the flour and baking powder and mix vigorously.

STEP 3: Separate the dough into two equal portions. Pour the first half into a heart-shaped silicone pan. Bake for 25 minutes (at 180°C). Let cool and remove the cake from the mould. Do the same with the second half of the dough.

STEP 4: When the cakes are cold, spread the strawberry jam and then the raspberry jam on one of the hearts. Place the second heart on top. Place in a cool place for 2 hours.

STEP 5: Prepare your frosting. Soften the gelatin leaves in cold water. In a saucepan, bring your coulis to the boil with the 20 cl of water. At the first boil, place your saucepan off the heat, add your gelatine leaves, stir and set aside in a cool place for one hour.

STEP 6: After this time, take your cake out and gently pour your mirror icing over it so that it covers the entire surface. Put the cake back in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
